CTIRS Study Trip to Hong Kong Disneyland: Experiencing Unique Operational Models and Career Planning
On January 11, 2025, the Centre for Tourism and Integrated Resort Studies (CTIRS) organized an experiential study trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. A group of 32 students from the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Macau, led by Prof. Amy SO, Director of CTIRS, Prof. Li MIAO, Head of the Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, and Prof. Soey LEI, Assistant Professor in Integrated Resort and Tourism Management, participated the visit. The trip offered students a unique opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Disney’s corporate culture and business operations.
As part of the “Disney’s Foundations for Career Success” program, students interacted with Disney cast members and explored Disney’s core values, culture, the significance of a positive attitude, and the importance of continuous skill development. These experiences are crucial for equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for their future careers.
This inspirational field trip successfully provided invaluable learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom to enable students to explore a dynamic business environment, gain practical experience in mega resort management and to be able to broaden their perspectives, which will inspire their future career planning.
