In 2019, the CCRIR organized 2 GBA-related tourism forums.  They are intended to provide a platform for industry practitioners and academics to share knowledge and experiences in sustainable tourism and hospitality practices in the GBA and beyond. In addition, they are also aiming to promote education and employment in the related areas.

These two forums invited 16 distinguished scholars and top executives from Singapore, Malaysia, Shanghai, Xiamen, and GBA cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao as the keynote speakers to address the practices of sustainable tourism and hospitality. Also, the forums drew hundreds of participants from 16 universities (including educators and scholars), hence reflecting Macao’s role as a ‘bridge’ that facilitates communication between the GBA cities and the outside world.
